Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Satpol PP head, Yadi Rusmadi, explained that the street vendors are selling on roadsides because the condition is considered urgent and they are allowed to open stalls. “Pasar Senen traders are selling on roadsides because of the fire. So, we should tolerate it. That must be understood together,” he uttered.

According to Rusmadi, his party can only wait until PD Pasar Jaya finished preparing the temporary shelters and relocating ex-Blok III Traders who becomes fire victims. “If PD Pasar Jaya announced it is clear, it means the whole fire victims have been accommodated and then we’ll move. It is currently still not clear, because PD Pasar Jaya has not told us if everything is finished,” he explained.

Rusmadi also told that his party cannot control the street vendors settling roadsides in Senen area because his personnel do not know whether the traders are Blok III traders or not. “This is still a grey area. I don’t want the traders doing resistance if we controlled them but they felt have not been accommodated yet,” he stressed.
